The Architectural Foundation of Santa Barbara is seeking a new Executive Director to facilitate day-to-day operations, promote the non-profit organization and its mission, and manage the Acheson House and property. The mission of AFSB is to provide educational programs that promote understanding and appreciation of design excellence in architecture and the built environment. The office is in the Acheson House at 229 East Victoria Street along with two tenants. AFSB has been operating for 34 years with an endowment and an active Board of Directors.
Position is Part time.
$20.00 – $25.00 per hour DOE
Current hours are 16 hours per week with 4 flexible hours for evening and weekend events. Exact schedule to be determined upon hiring.
General Description of work requirements and responsibilities:
-Computer Skills for PC System: Windows Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, File Maker Pro are required; savvy with other programs such as WordPress, Paypal / Square, Craigslist, Eventbright/Evite, is beneficial.
-General Office and Administrative work
-Processing of cash, check, and credit card payments
-Database Management of membership status and dues
-Management of Acheson House and Property
-Efficient time management, organization, and prioritization skills
-Ability to multi-task and to work with Board, volunteers, interns, and public.
-Critical thinking and good written and oral communication skills for Reporting to Board of Directors, volunteers, the public
-Team work and coordination with board, interns and committee volunteers
-Flexibility to adjust office hours to work evening or weekend events.
-Assist in coordinating and attend 6 Board Meetings per year and the Annual Retreat.
-Assistance to prepare and issue program Press Releases, Social Media postings, Event Invitation mailings, and news and announcements for Programs and Gallery Openings.
-Assistance in set up of furniture / equipment for events
-Assistance in recruiting and retaining members, volunteers, directors and fundraising.
-Collaborate with other non-profit groups, the public and others to share the AFSB Mission.
-Manage supplies and run errands
